Stonnex Roofing is a GAF Certified Residential Roofing Contractor. GAF is North America's largest roofing manufacturer, and the certification is granted by GAF, not by us. It is checkable: you can see our listing in GAF's contractor directory. It is also the reason we can register manufacturer warranties on the roofs we install.
Roofing has very few real credentials. British Columbia does not license roofing contractors, so a lot of what gets called a “certification” in this trade is not verifiable by anyone. GAF certification is different, because GAF grants it and GAF can revoke it.
To hold it, a contractor has to carry proper insurance, maintain a satisfactory reputation with GAF, and stay in good standing. It is a manufacturer's designation covering the company, and it is what allows us to register GAF's manufacturer warranties on your roof when GAF materials are specified.
Worth being precise about the difference, because it is the thing most often blurred in this industry: GAF warranties cover materials and are provided by GAF. The workmanship warranty on our installation is separate, is provided by Stonnex Construction Ltd., and runs 10 years on shingle and metal and 5 years on torch-on and flat systems. Both are set out on our warranty page.
GAF publishes this comparison of their warranty tiers. Coverage varies by the system specified and by which components are used, so the right column for your roof is something we confirm in your written quote.
Timberline HDZ is the shingle we specify most often on Lower Mainland homes. It is worth understanding what you are buying before you sign for it.
A roof is not just shingles. Underlayment, ventilation, starter strip, ridge cap and flashing all do work, and skipping any of them is one of the most common ways a cheap roof turns into an expensive one. This is what a complete system looks like.
Timberline HDZ is not the only option. This chart lays out GAF's shingle lines side by side, so you can see what changes as you move up the range and decide what is worth paying for on your home.
If you want a GAF system priced for your home, we inspect the roof, photograph what we find, and give you a written fixed-price quote. No cost and no obligation.
